In my last post I used this tutorial to make my own heart shaped bokeh, it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I was a bit lazy and didn't make a cap for the lens but simply held my cut-out in front of the lens.
I set my camera to manual mode and set my 50mm f1.8 lens to manual focus. If you use auto focus for this shot your camera will automatically focus on your christmas lights and you won't get the pretty bokeh.
It was a little tricky trying to get the right exposure because the heart shaped cut-out blocked a lot of light, so I bumped up my ISO to 1600, and set my aperture to f2.0 and my shutterspeed to 1/30.

Dank je wel voor de uitleg, na je vorige foto was ik al een beetje aan het uit proberen geweest maar mijn camera kennis is niet zo goed als die van jou. En op autofocus lukt het dus niet ;-) Bedankt ga het nog eens proberen. Groetjes Greta
ReplyDeleteLaat je het weten als het lukt. Ben benieuwd naar je foto's.
DeleteI'll have to try this. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletewow..very cool!!
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool! Thanks for showing us how!
ReplyDeleteI like it! Visiting today from the No Rules Weekend Blog Party. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to try this.
ReplyDeleteI had to pin this idea! I only have a lens that is f/3 but will have to try it anyway. I can usually get a "normal" Brokeh effect if I try really hard using it.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if this would work with f/3 but let me know if it does.
